Michael Moody – Frey Foundation Chair for Family Foundations and Philanthropy, The Johnson Center, Grand Valley State University

Michael Moody, Ph.D., has a doctorate in sociology from Princeton University and is the first holder of the Frey Foundation Chair for Family Philanthropy at the Johnson Center. He has served on the faculty at Boston University and the University of Southern California and ran his own philanthropic consulting business for two years. He is currently writing a book expanding on the “Next Gen Donors” report (nextgendonors.org).

 Afton DeVos – Associate Director, Kids’ Food Basket

Afton DeVos is the associate director of Kids’ Food Basket, a Grand Rapids nonprofit organization serving over 7,500 students each weekday at 38 sites in Grand Rapids, Muskegon and Holland. She received her master’s degree in public administration Grand Valley State University, with an emphasis in nonprofit leadership and management. A member of WMPGG, she was recognized as a Grand Rapids Business Journal 40 Under Forty Business Leader.

Michele Marquardt – Founding Partner, DeMent and Marquardt

Michele Marquardt is a founding partner of the DeMent and Marquardt law firm, specializing in estate planning and wealth preservation. She received her master’s degree in educational psychology from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from the Wayne State University School of Law. Ms. Marquardt has been named as a Michigan SuperLawyer in Estate Planning annually since 2007 and was recognized as a Top Woman Attorney in Michigan by Hour Detroit in 2014 and 2015.
