About the presenters
Perry Wasserman
Perry is managing director of 501(c) STRATEGIES, a DC-based firm that specializes in designing and implementing legislative campaigns, coalition building and grassroots organizing on a range of legislative and regulatory issues important to nonprofit organizations. Prior to launching 501(c) STRATEGIES in 2005, Perry served as the legislative specialist in the public policy practice group of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP, where he tracked and analyzed developments relating to intellectual property and media law. He also lobbied on behalf of a national education trade association and assisted in securing federal appropriations exceeding $200 million for a school reform program.
Michael Kenyon
Michael joined the CGP staff in 2012 as president and CEO. He visits Washington, DC, regularly to participate in nonprofit coalition programs and to educate legislators about provisions that support charitable giving. Before joining the CGP staff, Michael served as the executive director of the Percussive Arts Society. At PAS, he lead an international music service organization that promotes percussion education, research, performance and appreciation, with 7,500+ members, 50 U.S. chapters and 28 international chapters. Among many successful initiatives at PAS, he led the organization through development of new facility for the Rhythm! Discovery Center, a museum and educational space that USA Today named one of the top places in the United States for hands-on music making.
